Physical Education
Overview:
At Rhyddings we study PE to develop the physical, social and emotional well-being of our students. We aim to provide an engaging and challenging curriculum that allows students to achieve beyond their expectations. We offer excellent opportunities to develop a healthy life-long love of Physical Activity and to develop a first class teaching and learning environment where both staff and students enjoy working hard together to achieve success.
We want all our students to feel they belong as part of a team, believe in their healthy potential and become as physically, socially, and emotionally well as they can be. We do this by developing the attitudes, skills and knowledge required to be a leader and provide memorable experiences throughout a student’s journey within Physical Education at Rhyddings.

Intent:
The aim of the PE team is to build on the whole school ethos of the ‘Rhyddings Way’ values by allowing our students to be:
- ETHICAL; by belonging to a team and building resilience in different competitive environments
- EQUIPPED to fulfill their own potential
- EMPOWERED to become the best they can be
The PE department commits to creating a positive PE experience that can help to minimise health problems and create active habits for life. A PE curriculum that creates young people who are not only more physically literate, but who are more likely to become, and remain, physically active.
