With BTEC Sport Level 2 & 3 

We are looking for 25 individuals to join our Youth Football Scholarship. Players will be joining our elite programme and will be given a college education alongside training and playing in a Football Academy environment.

Academy players will be based at Darwen Football Cluband will be aiming to play Reserve Team and ultimately First team football at a Semi-Professional level.

A minimum requirement of 4 GCSE’S at grade D or better (including English Language) or a Level 1 BTEC qualification at a distinction grade.
You will need to be interviewed by the course leader and he/she will be looking at your personality and willingness to learn.

Is this the right course for me?
If you are passionate for sport, coaching and exercise then this is the course for you.
This qualification goes into more depth exploring the body systems, methods of coaching and exercise and generally covers all aspects of the sport’s industry.  This qualification is a progression route from the Level 2 Diploma in Sport.
You will take part in sport/coaching on a daily basis and learn how to analyse your own performance and that of those around you.
If you feel that you would like to eventually work within the sports industry as a sport coach or fitness professional then this is for you.What will I be doing?
·      Training within an Elite Academy
·      Playing Football for the Pro-Direct Soccer Academy
·      Learning aspects of training and coaching at an elite standard
·      Gaining valuable knowledge of the Professional Sports IndustryProgression routes
American Soccer Scholarships are a possible option once you’ve successfully completed the Extended Diploma, progression through the coaching pathways and the employment with Pro-Direct Soccer Academy is also a progression route if you can prove you are competent as a coach. If you have gained enough UCAS points over your Extended Diploma then pathways to Universities are available.

Enrichment to the course
Alongside the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport you will do Level 3 EAALL,  Functional skills at Level 2 in Maths and English as well as the 1st  4 Sport Award in Coaching Football
You will also get opportunities to work with Pro Direct Soccer Academy in the community, schools and at training camps.
