Recently in Skills for Learning, students in 7X (7GH, 7MT and 7NT) worked with staff from Lancashire Constabulary to identify the effects that drinking alcohol can have. They had to put on some ‘beer goggles’ and some overalls, negotiate walking in a straight line whilst balancing a ball on a wooden spoon, and then count out some change for a bus fare. Whilst it was highly amusing at times watching students take part, it was also a valuable experience for students – and staff! – to learn. We’d like to thank the staff who came in to work with our students.
