Round 2 of the Rhyddings Masterchef competition saw the top 12 contestants take part in the Mystery Box / Invention Test challenge. Students were told in advance that they would be cooking a dish with either chicken, beef or fish – but they wouldn’t know which one until they arrived for the challenge! In the end the chosen protein was chicken, and students really outdid themselves. Miss Greenhalgh and I had a very difficult time judging – so difficult, in fact, that instead of the top 6 we were aiming for, we caved in and made it a top 7! Congratulations once again to all of the students – we wish we could have put you all through!

Next week students are facing Indian week – they will be required to cook an Indian main course of their choice. We will have a guest judge in to help us – a local chef. The top 7 students competing next week are Alannah Gibson, Autumn Bibby, Connor McCarthy, Jessica Hatton, Josh McQuilton-Morgan, Ronan Clarke and Tutu Mukelabai. Good luck!
