This project aims to educate young people about the importance of heritage; it will provide a unique opportunity for students to appreciate and value their own heritage and the diverse community that they are part of. In particular it will explore the achievements of South Asian women who arrived in East Lancashire between 1965-1985.
The enclosed lesson plans look at the wider theme of heritage and the importance of different cultures adding to our society. These lessons will help students to consider the contributions these women have made within our society, the influence they have had within the local community of East Lancashire and how they have helped to change the cultural makeup of our country.
Please find a .zip file below containing digital copies of lesson plans and resources. These may be adapted to suit the needs of students across all year groups, and of all abilities.
