The Department for Education strongly encourages schools to have a uniform as it can play a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of a school and setting an appropriate tone.

Uniform regulations are listed below. If an item of clothing or footwear is not listed, it is not school uniform.

Download a copy of the policy here.

The Rhyddings School Shop is open from 8.35-9am each morning. Students can buy required equipment – pens, pencils and rulers – as well as a range of other stationery items. Basic stationery items are 10p each or a pen, pencil and a ruler can be purchased for 20p.

As well as selling stationery, students who have attended school out of uniform will be sent to the shop by their form tutors to borrow necessary items including blazers and ties. Students wearing trainers or other inappropriate footwear will be given a pair of canvas pumps to wear for the day. These are disinfected after each wear. Students borrowing uniform items are required to leave a deposit, collectable at the end of the day when items are returned.
