Overview:

Spanish is a highly valued qualification for many university routes. Being able to speak another language will open up many career routes. Students will be instilled with a love of languages and will learn to communicate spontaneously and confidently. Students are encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings in another language, both in speaking and in writing.

Intent:

Languages at Rhyddings serves to develop students’ sense of identity whilst developing a tolerance and world view  that will provide a foundation, not just for their language studies but also for their wider lives.  New cultural knowledge will foster a strong self-belief and respect of the multicultural society in which we live today.  The process of learning a new language enhances self-confidence and develops linguistic knowledge of both Spanish and English.  Thus, equipping every student with the communication skills necessary to enable them realise their full potential and become a valued member of the society.
