Careers / CEIAG
Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School aims to provide the best possible careers education, information, advice and guidance to students through the Gatsby benchmarks as stated below:
- Providing a stable careers programme.
The programme will be clear to students, parents, teachers, governors and employers.
- Learning from careers and labour markets information.
Students and parents will have access to the good quality information about future study options and labour market opportunities.
- Addressing the needs of each student.
We understand that students have different career guidance needs at different stages. We aim to provide tailored advice and support for the needs of each student.
- Linking curriculum learning to careers.
All teachers will link curriculum learning with careers. STEM subject teachers will highlight the relevance of STEM subjects for a wide range of future career paths.
- Encounters with employers and employees.
Every student will be provided with opportunities to learn from employers about work, employment and the skills that are valued in the workplace. This will be done through a range of activities including visiting speakers, Citizenship days and visits to local businesses.
- Experiences of workplaces.
Every student will be provided with an opportunity to have first-hand experience of the workplace through work visits and work shadowing opportunities.
- Encounters with higher and further education.
All students will understand the full range of learning opportunities available to them. This will include both academic and vocational routes and learning in schools, colleges, universities and in the workplace.
- Personal guidance.
Every student will receive appropriate careers guidance by a qualified careers advisor at several times through their academic career at Rhyddings.
Our careers programme is designed to meet the needs of students at Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School. It is differentiated and personalised to ensure progression through activities that are appropriate to students’ stages of career learning, planning and development.
