Overview:

GCSE Business introduces our students to the business world, empowering them to develop as commercially minded and enterprising individuals. Students will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, enabling them to use business information critically, to develop arguments, to make justified decisions and to prepare them for further study and career pathways.

Intent:

In GCSE Business, students will learn about and apply their knowledge and understanding to different business contexts that they may encounter within their current and future lives. This will equip and empower them as consumers, employees or employers. We want our students to be knowledgeable and inquisitive about small enterprises around them in Oswaldtwistle and Accrington, to the larger multinationals and the businesses operating in local, national and global contexts.

This knowledge and insight into Business will build their confidence, ethical decision making skills, and personal and business skills for their personal lives and future careers.
