sortI came to see the School of Rock with my husband last night.  We were not sure what to expect… but it was brilliant.  It was in contrast to my attendance at a professional show of “Educating Rita” at the Octagon Theatre in Bolton on Tuesday night – tough competition!

I can say, hand on heart, that the performance of the School of Rock was genuinely engaging and it was clear to see the contribution that each member of the cast and crew gave to make the show such a success.  Every single young person was clearly involved and enjoying their role.  The professionalism of the band and crew was noticeable simple by the fact that they were invisible to the audience but a clear foundation to the performance.  The lead actors were simply brilliant, confident and I think were able to set the standard for their peers.

If I had to go and watch either Educating Rita OR School of Rock again, I would have no hesitation – I would see School of Rock again.

Thank you to the school, the staff who supported the young people – and of course the young people themselves.  What a credit to the school and to themselves!

Kind regards,
