The final of Rhyddings Masterchef 2016 took place on Wednesday 25 May at in the professional kitchen at North Lancs Training Group (NLTG). Three contestants battled it out with a two course menu each: Daisy Clemson (Year 10), Poppy Clemson (Year 9) and Logan Parkinson (Year 9).
All three students did an exceptional job, helped along with support from both their families and the staff at North Lancs. Their dishes were judged by Chris and Jules from Hoysters Restaurant in Ramsbottom, two staff from NLTG and Janet Ashworth, Community Champion for Tesco and one of our school governors.
The students did an incredible job, and the judging was very tight. Mrs Neary, Miss Hubbard and myself were glad to hand those duties over for a change!
Congratulations to Poppy, who was crowned Rhyddings Masterchef 2016. She won a range of prizes, including a £20 voucher for Hoysters. Well done also to Daisy and Logan, who did themselves proud.
Thanks you to Hoysters for donating the prize and to Jules and Chris for giving up their time; thanks to Janet for coming in to judge and thanks also to NLTG for the use of their facilities and their on-going support.
We are looking forward to Masterchef 2017!
