As part of their Citizenship task 8RR recently raised over £1000 for cancer charities. As a reward for this amazing effort some members of the form were invited to be player escorts for Saturday’s Blackburn Rovers game against top of the table Leicester City. They accompanied the Blackburn players on to the pitch wearing Macmillan Cancer T shirts. After shaking hands with the Leicester players they joined their parents to watch the match from the comfort of the Jack Walker stand. A cheque for £800 was also presented to Seb Farrell from Macmillan. The rest of the money that 8RR raised will be given to Christies. It was a great experience. Thank you to students in 8RR for being a credit to Rhyddings on Saturday and all their hard work in fundraising, and thank you to Blackburn Rovers for their generous hospitality.
