As you may, or may not know, Remembrance Day is soon approaching.

As custodians of Remembrance, The Royal British Legion, through the Poppy Appeal, provides ways for commemorating those who are no longer with us.

Each November, Fields of Remembrance around the UK display crosses containing personal dedications sent by supporters. This year the Legion will create Fields of Remembrance at 4 different locations: Westminster, Wooten Bassett, Belfast and Cardiff.

Poppies will be on sale all week from the school office or Miss Hussain, for a minimum donation of 20p although the suggested donation is £1.00 per item.

At 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month of 2011, the nation will pause. We will fall silent and take two minutes to reflect on the sacrifice of our brave service men and women from conflicts past and present.

During the week commencing 7th November, we will have visitors in assembly from the Royal British Legion from Accrington. Students will have an opportunity to reflect on service men and women of the armed forces.
